Summary of Needs Assessment Results

During March 2008, the San Mateo County Fall Prevention Task Force conducted a county-wide needs assessment to help better understand how we might increase our collective impact in reducing falls in San Mateo County. The assessment was undertaken to inform the Task Force's strategic planning-a process that is part of an 18-month capacity-building grant received from the Archstone Foundation. Download program flyer San Mateo County Fall Prevention Task Force Awarded Archstone Foundation Grant 10/15/07 - The San Mateo County Fall Prevention Task Force was thrilled to receive news that it will be awarded grant funding from the Archstone Foundation for activities undertaken in the coming year. The $25,000 grant covers an 18-month period and will support the Fall Prevention Task Force to complete a needs assessment, create a strategic plan, expand Task Force membership, and implement activities in the community. Established in 1986, Archstone Foundation is a private, non-profit foundation whose mission is to prepare society for the growing needs of an aging society. Under the leadership of president and CEO Joseph F Prevratil, J.D., Archstone grants up to $5 million annually, primarily in Southern California. The Archstone Foundation's funding priorities include: fall prevention, elder abuse and neglect, end-of-life issues, and emerging needs among the elderly.
